In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for the alleged killing of a 70-year-old woman during a dispute with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. Authorities reported that the victim's son, Bijendra Kumar, engaged in an argument with the suspect, Majid, who resides in the same neighborhood. An official stated that the woman, Ramvati Devi, intervened to defend her son, but was pushed by Majid, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. ACP Abhishek Srivastava of Kavi Nagar mentioned that Bijendra resided with his brother and mother in LIG flats under the Kanshiram Avas Yojna. The incident occurred when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver allegedly intoxicated, was sitting outside the Kumar residence late at night, leading to a confrontation initiated by Bijendra questioning his presence. Ramvati tried to defuse the situation but was tragically pushed by Majid, resulting in severe injuries that led to her demise. Following her death, an FIR was lodged at Madhuban Bapudham police station, charging Majid under relevant sections of the law. The accused appeared in court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
